Andalucia And Its Beautiful Huelva

The perfect holiday location

Huelva is that place in Spain that offers you an idyllic location of an unbelievable natural beauty with an air of authentic Spain and some of the most marvelous beaches you have ever seen. You’ll find Huelva in the beautiful province of Andalusia, somewhere along the picturesque Costa de Luz and it represents the biggest concentration of top beaches in Spain; this makes Huelva the ideal destination for a summer holiday. What will also impress you in Huelva are the immense diversity and the 3000 hours of sunshine that the area receives every single year. A third of its entire extension is occupied by the amazing Donana Nature Reserve, one of the biggest and most important wetlands reserve not only in the country, but in the continent. Those who love nature will also fall in love with the reserve, as it is the home of about 365 species, out of which 5 of them are endangered, such as the Egyptian mongoose or the Iberian lynx. Those who want to enjoy the beauties of the park can do it by either going on a guided tour, trekking, horseback riding or even 4x4 trips.

Other attractions of the province

Huelva is also the province that hosts the El Rocio village, the one that became famous as it is an important spot on the pilgrimage map: the Rocio Virgin is the reason why thousands of people visit the village during the famous Romeria Del Rocio festival. The city of Huelva is the capital of the province; it is an industrial city, but this does not mean that you won’t have entertainment opportunities. Sightseeing is very important in Huelva, so make sure you visit the Barrio Obrero, the beautiful Cathedral, the few churches spread all over the city (each displaying another architectural style) or the Provincial Museum, the place where you have the chance to see a series of archaeological artifacts that tell the story of Huelva. The Sierra de Aracena area is another place of great interest, a picturesque mountain range that will win your hearts with its breathtaking landscapes. If these are enough for you and you decided to visit Huelva, choose for accommodation the Fuerte El Rompnido Hotel, located on the Costa de Luz in a spectacular natural setting. Another great option is represented by the Islantilla Golf Resort, a golf course and hotel complex with excellent ferienhäuser spanien services for tourists. Enjoy Huelva!

Amazing archeological Alicante museums

Besides the fun in the sun on the beautiful sandy beaches at Alicante, you can complete your holiday vacation with a truly enlightening discovery of a different kind. There may not be many historical sites for your viewing pleasure but you will certainly enjoy the history uncovered in many of the archaeological treasures of this region with its wide range of traditional costume collections and excellent paintings.

Out of the many amazing archeological museum offerings in Alicante, the best has to be MARQ, which is the main archeology museum in Alicante that showcases many interesting pieces.

MARQ – Archeology museum

This museum was established in the year 1932 but in 2002, it took over San Juan provincial hospital. MARQ museum is considered as Alicante’s most distinguished museums with its impressive avant-garde design. Inside, the museum employs modern audiovisual techniques which make viewing of the artifacts and understanding the rich local history so appealing and rewarding. The MARQ museum has been awarded the prestigious European “Museum of the Year” recognition in the year 2004.

In its collection, there are over 80,000 pieces of artifacts that were found in many local archaeological sites. With these wonderful discoveries, you are taken through a thorough journey of Alicante’s history that runs from as far back as the Stone Age to the Iberian and Roman eras before reaching the rustic medieval times. There are loads of high value educational movies in every thematic room prepared for your viewing pleasure.

There are permanent exhibition centers and temporary exhibition pieces at the MARQ museum. The temporary exhibitions are regularly showcased with different themes and offerings. For example, April-October 2011 temporary exhibition is showcasing the amazing Russian Treasures which is a spectacular sight. This exhibition is made possible because of the alliance with Museum of Hermitage; there will be about five hundred pieces of Russian treasures over a few different periods as well as different Russian territories.

This temporary exhibition at Alicante is a great example how important and interesting world renowned archaeological collections can be viewed. Although these pieces are specially preserved in their original environment at the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg, there is a fine collaboration between the relevant authorities to share the extensive research and results of artifacts from Russia and other neighboring countries.

MARQ museum is located at Doctor Gómez Plaza. Its opening hours are from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am to 7pm and Sundays as well as public holidays from 10am to 2pm. It is closed on Mondays. It is only 3 euros for the villa spanien museum entry; however, the cost to MARQ museum, Tossal and Illeta is only 4 euros whereas the charges would be more if individual entries are purchased.

Jerez La Frontera And Its Attractions

A holiday destination

If you need a holiday destination in Spain, don’t hesitate to choose Jerez la Frontera. Jerez became renowned due to the fact that it is the home of sherry, but also the home of brandy; these are known as being English drinks and the English influence is felt even in the name of the city: Jerez instead of Xerez.  Jerez la Frontera is a very pleasant and elegant town, a prosperous one that will attract you with the numerous wine bodegas and the sightseeing spots which are representative either for an architectural style or for telling short stories of its past. Life seems very relaxed and quite here, but things get more energetic and lively with the famous May Horse Fair, one of the most popular fiestas in Spain. Perhaps you haven’t heard about Jerez due to the sherry and the brandy, but due to the impressive flamenco tradition; this amazing tradition, representative for the entire country, managed to survive here despite all the obstacles that appeared in its way. The Andaluz Flamenco Centre is one of the ‘’must see’’ stops on your list, as it will help you understand everything you need to know about this amazing type of dancing and music.

Other attractions

If you want to have an active holiday, then you can choose a sherry or a brandy processes tour; you have to know one small detail: August is not the month for that, because it represents the month when everything closes down in this industry. You should choose Gonzales Byass, the maker of the famous and extremely popular Tio Pepe brand or the Pedro Domecq, the one who produces the wonderful La Ina. If you want to go sightseeing in the city, make sure you visit the San Salvador Cathedral, a spectacular example of Gothic and Renaissance architectural style. The Archaeological Museum should be another stop for you, especially if you are interested in history and the past of the places you visit. Since you are in Jerez, you have to try the delicious Spanish traditional food, so enter a tapas bar, as you will fall in love with the dishes served there. For accommodation, you can choose the Jerez Hotel, as it has great facilities and services or the Guadalete Hotel, located in a residential area of the town, very close to the ferienhaus spanien beaches. I am sure you will have a spectacular holiday, so enjoy!

Spending Quality Time In Figueres

Holiday destinations in Spain

Spain is one of those countries where anybody can have a wonderful, a memorable holiday: it is such a diverse country, that it does not matter what kind of preferences or interests you have, as you will surely find something to attract you in one of Spain’s corners. Some of the destinations will attract you with their mountains; others will attract you with the sea, while others will impress you with their exotic landscapes and their picturesque views. Out of the hundreds and hundreds of tourist destinations, you can choose Figueres, as this is one of the resorts where you can spend a few relaxing days, enjoying the true Spanish spirit.

Visiting Figueres

Figueres is one of those places that wouldn’t be on the tourism map of Spain if it wouldn’t be for the Dali Museum; the great Salvador Dali himself installed the museum in a building as surreal as the collection of exhibits he wanted to share with the entire world. Usually, those tourists who visit Barcelona choose Figueres as destination for a one day trip, in the attempt to escape from the agitation of the big city. However, if you decide to visit Figueres in just one day, you should have an early start from Barcelona, as it will take you almost two hours by bus to reach it. You will be welcomed by a city which is foreshadowed by the museum, the main and sometimes only reason why people visit Figueres. If you decide to stay in Figueres overnight, you will realize that the town is actually a very pleasant one, with a lot of options when it comes to local cuisine.

It would be a good idea to choose Thursday as the day to visit Figueres, as this is the day when the city hosts an open market from where you can buy a wide range of fresh local products, as well as crafts hand made by the inhabitants of ferienhäuser lloret de mar Figueres; many of these crafts are part of the old traditions and customs of the country. The Jewish quarter is one of the oldest parts of the city and an important attraction; you have to visit it if you want to enjoy the old, pure spirit if Figueres. The city is a charming one if you try to explore and to discover it step by step, so take it into account for a holiday destination: you won’t regret your choice!

Spain and its beautiful EL Mercadal

A pleasant country

Spain is one of those countries that you have to visit at least once in your lifetime; it is incredibly beautiful and extremely diverse, so try to spend at least a few days there: you will fall in love with it! It is in Spain where you will find mountains, but it is also in Spain where you will enjoy the beauty of the sea, the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean and its perfect blue color. Spain is also renowned for being a country that attracts with its rich history, the unbelievably beautiful architectural styles, the amazing culture, the wonderful customs and traditions, the spectacular modern, cosmopolite big cities and the charming, traditional villages. It is impossible not to love it! The country has thousands and thousands of tourist attractions, but there is one that I particularly want to recommend you: El Mercadal.

The beautiful El Mercadal

El Mercadal patiently waits for its visitors just a few kilometers to the northwest of Alaior or to be more exact, exactly nine kilometers. Es Mercadal will look like coming out from within the hills, as it is squatting among them from the very heart and centre of the island. It is an old market town that especially those who love the history of Spain and its past will enjoy, as it looks like it is a small piece of the amazing past that this wonderful country has. It is a town where you will be welcomed by charming whitewashed houses and by trim allotments, so prepare for a spectacular view! While in El Mercadal, make sure you don’t miss the restaurant that waits for its clients on the Calle Miranda at number 30: Can Aguedet.

The restaurant serves a lot of delicious dishes, but you are not allowed to miss the tasty Menorcan cuisine. If you are one of those who love nature, El Mercadal is surely the right place for you, as you have the picturesque Monte Toro that seems to guard the ferienwohnung lloret de mar city and to protect it. A hike on the mountain will offer you spectacular views that will take your breath away, so allocate some of your time for this! The convent you will find at the top of the mountain also deserves your attention; try not to miss it! El Mercadal is neither the most famous nor the most popular holiday destination in Spain but it sure is a pleasant one! Enjoy it!

Choosing Deia as your holiday destination

The village of Deia

Deia is just a village situated about 10 kilometers away from Soller, but it is an incredibly beautiful one. The powerful, mighty and imposing Puig des Teix meets in this place the shores of the coast and even though its slopes are now packed with the villas of the rich and famous, the mountain still managed to keep alive much of its original presence, the imposing one that offers the picturesque panoramas that surround the village. The main street in Deia is the perfect place for you if you want to enjoy the beauty of the hotels and villas in the village; it is also the place that sometimes gets crowded and congested in a very special manner that manages to keep the tranquility so typical for the village. The alleys of the village seem like a labyrinth of peasant houses that curl up to a beautiful, tiny and charming church where tourists can visit the grave of the famous Robert Graves, the poet who represents the most important figure for the village of Deia. The graveyard offers spectacular views over the picturesque coast, so you should visit it if you decide to spend a few days in Deia.

Attractions in Deia

Cala de Deia is the place where the inhabitants and the tourists can enjoy the warm sun and the shallow waters that bathe the coasts; it is not quite a beach, as you will only be welcomed by 200 meters of shingle that seem to be protected by a rocky cove and a few jagged cliffs, but the views that surround it make it perfect for a couple of hours’ relaxation. The water here is clean and clear, which makes it perfect for swimming, so if you want to run away from the agitation of the village, choose this spot without any hesitations.

Accommodation and eating

Deia does not have any type of problems when it comes to accommodation, as you will find here two of the most exquisite and finest ferienwohnungen lloret de mar  hotels in Mallorca: La Residencia and Es Moli. La Residencia is hosted by a spectacular mansion, while Es Moli enjoys breathtaking views towards the coast. When it comes to eating, you will find a wide range of cafes, terraces and restaurants that serve delicious local dishes, such as the famous tapas, the tasty bread which is rubbed with olive oil or the special bocadillos. Enjoy Deia!

Valencia

One of the most important destinations for a beach holiday in Spain and the Mediterranean coast is the region of Valencia, the kingdom of citrus fruit, characterized by a rugged coastline on a background of hills and fields. The impulse was given to agriculture by Muslim invaders centuries ago; the citrus groves along the coast are still the main vegetable growing areas of Spain.

Traveling in Valencia you can admire the picturesque terraced orchards and rice fields that stretch as far as the eye can see. The rice, the basic unit of paella, is omnipresent in the local cuisine, sometimes in similar versions like in Italian risotto. Even more surprising is the extensive palm groves of Elche (Elx), a green oasis in the territory of the increasingly arid region, and also the place of origin of the palm branches used during the famous Holy Week procession.

For lovers of the sea, the beaches of the Costa Blanca, Costa del Azahar and Costa Calida are much sought after holiday destinations year after year. The primary location in Valencia is the Baroque and Renaissance buildings which reflect the long history of the region. The city has totally changed in recent decades, with innovative architecture and regeneration of the coast. The coast of Valencia has become a very popular resort area, ideal for water sports of different kinds. The main towns on the coast are Benidorm, Benicassim, La Manga del Mar Menor and Oropesa. Most of the population lives in large cities such as Valencia, Alicante and Cartagena.

The ferienhaus costa blanca Valencian language is similar to Catalan, but very different is the character of the people, rediscovered each time during the imaginative festivals of the province, including the famous battle of the tomatoes, the feast at which thousands of tomatoes are hurled against anyone, transforming streets of the city into a huge red river. For those interested, the date of the Feast of the tomato is the last Wednesday of August, and is held at a distance of 40 km from Valencia, in the city of Buitol. At parties they do not pull back like they do in the other cities. In the capital, the festival of Las Fallas is held every March; it is a festival during which we burn puppets amid fireworks, and performances so that people should not forget the spirit of the battles between the Moors and Christians of Alcoa which were fought hundreds of years ago.

The rich history of Barcelona

The rich history of Barcelona ??has always been open to outside influences due to its coastal location and proximity to France. Its history ranges from archaeological finds of the past to contemporary masterpieces, through the Gothic, the base of the modem, and the Catalan art nouveau.

It is also the home to several museums displaying the works of famous painters of the twentieth century, including Miro, Picasso and Tapies. The cultural life is alive and dynamic, with shows in the Gran Teatre del Liceu and concerts in the Auditorium Rafael Moneo.

Barcelona is the main travel destination in Spain, and it can be visited with guided tours in one day. However, to get to know the city, travel packages are recommended for 3 or 7 days. The city tour usually starts from the Barri Gotic, or Gothic Quarter, the center of old Barcelona. In this area the buildings, the Cathedral of Barcelona, ??a magnificent building of the fourteenth century, and the elegant shops show the visitors the Catalan artistic splendor.

The port area was completely rehabilitated in the '90s; today it is a place of culture and Mediterranean fare. The old port is dominated by the huge statue of Christopher Columbus raised on a column of 60 m.

The main street of this area, Las Ramblas, is the most famous street in Spain, busy at all hours of day and night.
South of Las Ramblas is a modern new district, Raval, home of the Museum of Contemporary Art. To the north, La Ribera and El Born testify to the rich history of the city, while to the west, the Eixample district is home to most of the monument's Nuveau art, such as La Sagrada Familia. Capolaovoro, still unfinished, and Casa Mila, have avant-garde works of the famous architect Antoni Gaudi. Barcelona ?? has more Art Nouveau buildings than any city in the world.

The imposing castle of Montjuic built in the seventeenth century and located on top of the homonymous hill, offer panoramic views of the city and harbor. The Palau Nacional now houses the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, with an extraordinary collection of medieval art.

Visitors to the city will enjoy a little 'relaxation in the Parc de la Ciutadella, where green gardens offer opportunities for walking, but also to make a boat trip on the lake or visit the zoo and the nearby natural history museum.
The ferienhäuser costa blanca city was also the protagonist of the famous Woody Allen’s film, Vicky-Christina-Barcelona.

The Tourism at Almeria

As we all know, the countryside can sometimes have that desert-like look. Almeria is one such countryside. This city attained its pinnacle almost a thousand years ago and during that time, the city was an important port for the Moors. But in the 12th century, Almeria experienced a series of devastating earthquakes which caused its fall. Over the centuries, Almeria recuperated from the catastrophe and today has a healthy agricultural industry. Hosting the Mediterranean Games in 2005 also helped make it known again.

One of the best tourist spots, where the ports of Alcazaba and Rambla de Belen are located, is the cathedral which was built where a mosque formerly stood. More often than not, the Moriscos attack the Almerians during the construction of such cathedrals which is the very reason why it appears to look a bit like a rampart on the outside. When you walk into the cathedral, you’ll notice the interior where the Immaculate Concepcion painting is displayed and other exceptional masterpieces. When you turn your head toward the left portion of the area, you will find the Casa de los Puche that is said to be the oldest infrastructure in Almeria built centuries

On top of all that, Almeria has even more to offer! The Alcazaba hilltop had always been a magnet-like place for most tourists and even for the locals. This place contains gigantic towering walls which are a concrete example of an architectural block against the Moorish people. This wall was mandated by the Cordoba’s Caliph and was built in the tenth century. In the year 1489, Almeria was recaptured and the rulers commanded to further develop the walls.

Almeria is otherwise popular for the tapas bars commonly located at the Paseo de Almeria. Night clubs and bars aren’t in the zone in this area. So expect no evening gimmicks. The place also has wonderful meals to boast of such as the Sardines with Hot Sauce (Escabeche e Sardines), Clam Stew (Gachas), and Pork Stew and Wheat Grains (Trigo).

You can find the train station at the Plaza de la Estacion. It is approximately half a mile from ferienhaus spanien the heart of the city. If you plan to go to Granada and Seville, you won’t have any trouble catching a ride because there are direct routes there. But if you want to go to Malaga and Cordoba, you’ll have to take the Bobadilla route. Bus terminals are located on the northern side of Almeria. The international airport is a bit far from the center of the city, approximately 6 miles away.

Prospects of tourism in spain

The season for holidays in Spain is expected to be very promising, at least if you consider the results of the survey on travel behavior (Habitur) by the Institute of Tourism Studies.
During the study, the 15,000 foreign tourists who were interviewed spent at least one night in Spain during 2010. These results were most encouraging and anticipated that 59.8% of foreign tourists who visited the country last year will repeat the experience in 2011. This indicates that six out of ten visitors will return to Spain.
UK tourists make up the largest group of travelers who anticipate returning to the country in 2011. 68.5% chose this response, while in second place are the German tourists with 56%. The Italians answered the survey with a 53.2% return rate.

Interestingly, it is tourists who visited the country in the off-peak season who were the majority of respondents saying they wanted to return the following year. By contrast, the largest number of tourists who did not want to return in 2011 visited the country in the peak season.

The survey also revealed that 72% of foreign travelers repeat their travel experience to visit family and friends.

Nature trails and eco-tourism in Spain

The supply of travel destinations in Spain has been increased in line with the new “Natural Roads Program” created and overseen by the Ministry of Environment of Spain. With the aim to highlight and preserve the natural areas of the country, the program has been in effect since 1993 and today comprises 82 circuits totaling more than 4,000 km of hiking and nature trails.
With this initiative, the Ministry seeks to bring people back to their natural environment with the possibility of engaging in outdoor activities such as trekking and hiking. At the same time, the Ministry is trying to attain sustainable rural development and to assist with environmental education.
The budget for this program has been aimed at the improvement and expansion of these routes as well as the promotion of the program. So far, total investment was EUR 3.45 million with the ultimate goal of achieving a responsible tourist use of the natural and cultural heritage of Spain.
In the ferienhäuser spanien  latest meeting of the Spanish international tourism trade fair FITUR, a position on natural roads has been presented with the intention that these routes become increasingly recognized.
Therefore this is the ideal time to go on a vacation in Spain with your loved ones. Find yourself relaxing in nature and enjoy the greenery, the sun, the sand, the beaches, the music and the food.

The outstanding city of zaragoza

The beautiful Zaragoza

Zaragoza is one of those Spanish cities that you immediately fall in love with even without having an exact reason. Situated about 250 kilometers to the north east of Madrid and at almost the same distance from Barcelona, Zaragoza occupies a sunny spot on one of the warmest Spanish coasts. Zaragoza became famous due to the fact it plays the role of capital of the Aragon province, one of the most popular among tourists. The city attracts visitors with the modern and populous aspect and with the absolutely excellent avenues such as Gran Via, Sagasta or La Independencia. However, Zaragoza is mainly appealing for tourists due to the fact that the mass tourism hasn’t succeeded in changing it and its original atmosphere. Most of those who visit Spain don’t even know that Zaragoza is much more than just a simple train station that connects the capital Madrid with the famous and beautiful Barcelona, because Zaragoza never received too much publicity and attention from the government.

Visiting Zaragoza

If you decide to get off the train in order to spend some quality time in Zaragoza, I assure you that you will not be disappointed. The old town is the main attraction, so you have to visit it, as this is the place where you will find the best restaurants in Zaragoza, the authentic ones that serve the delicious Aragon cooking. The old town is also the part of the town that hosts the wonderful historical monuments; make sure you visit the Moorish Alijaferia Castle, an outstanding example of Arab architecture, the old Roman Forum, the last proof from the time of the Romans, the Virgin Mary Sanctuary or the beautiful Basilica del Pillar. The sightseeing list should also include the impressive old Cathedral known under the name of La Seu, a monument dating back to the 14th century that manages to attract visitors with its splendid Museum of Tapestries. The Fine Arts Museum is another big attraction in Zaragoza, as it hosts collections with works belonging to great artists such as Goya, El Greco, Rubens, Velasquez, Rembrandt, Renoir or Van Dyck. In 2008, the city hosted the famous International Expo, having as theme Water and the Sustainable ferienwohnungen spanien Development. Every five years, similar expositions are being held, having themes of the most diverse. Every exposition lasts for 6 months, so visiting Zaragoza during one of them can be a very interesting experience. Enjoy!

Visiting pamplona for the san fermin festival

The San Fermin Festival

If you want to travel to Spain in order to take part in one of its famous festivals, then you should go to Pamplona and visit during the San Fermin Festival. The world-renowned festival is the typical, traditional Spanish fiesta which millions of people dream of seeing. The festival is known by the Spaniards as ‘’Sanfermines’’ and it celebrates San Fermin, the patron saint of Pamplona, the popular city situated in the Basque country. Visit the city between July 6th and July 14th and you will be part of a great Spanish tradition that has taken place for centuries, a celebration of the pure Spanish spirit and the ancient traditions of this spectacular country.

The festival and its traditions

The San Fermin Festival became famous due to the running of the bulls. An 800-meter long stretch is the distance along which 6 bulls, each weighing at least half a ton, are allowed to run freely. Those who want a big dose of adrenaline and have the necessary courage to do so run in front of them. This tradition attracts the interest of thousands of tourists who overrun Pamplona during the one week in which the festival falls. However, this is not the only tradition in which you will be taking part. The festival incorporates in just one week a series of traditions and festivals that are centuries old. For example, the running of the bulls seems to date back to the 14th century.

What to expect during the festival

You should know that when you see the ‘’chupizano’’, that is, the firing rocket, the festival is starting and you should hurry in order not to miss any activities. Thousands of locals meet in the main square of the city, right in front of the town hall, and start popping location lloret de mar Cava corks and spraying everyone with the wine. Then they put on the famous red neckerchiefs and the party is ready to begin. The moment that most attracts tourists is the ‘’Encierro’’, or the bull running, as every single morning six bulls are released by the locals on the streets of the city. The job is a very dangerous one as fatalities have been recorded as well as hundreds of severe injuries. While in Pamplona, you should also witness a ‘corrida’’ that takes places in the city’s bull ring, as it really is a show that you simply cannot miss. After this, enjoy the good food and drink, the music and the late-night partying and make sure you have a lot of fun!

The sunny tarifa

Tarifa yesterday and today

Tarifa used to be until the 1980s just a quiet village that became famous in Spain for something very unusual: a very high suicide rate thought to be provoked by the unremitting winds that sometimes seem to take the control over the entire Tarifa. Nowadays, what spreads between the old Moorish walls is a very prosperous and popular tourist resort that became the first option for those who want to practice windsurfing in Europe. All year round dozens of windsurfing competitions are held here and the main street is packed with shops that offer rental equipment for all types of pockets; this is the reason why so many of Tarifa’s visitors are people who love windsurfing.

Tarifa and its attractions

If the reason why you decide to visit Tarifa is not windsurfing, don’t worry about getting bored, because it is definitely not the case. Many of those who visit Tarifa love to wander along the appealing, crumbling ramparts and to enjoy the wonderful views over the sea. The beautiful network of lanes surrounding the outstanding San Mateo Church is another big attraction of Tarifa; the Church displays a beautiful Baroque architectural style dating back to the 15th century and it occupies one of the main spots on the sightseeing list in Tarifa. If sightseeing is something that attracts you, also visit the Guzman Castle, the place where many fights were given for the power over Tarifa, especially during the Moors.

A very popular entertainment option in Tarifa is quite new, but extremely interesting: the dolphin and whale spotting. Tourists can choose a beautiful excursion that takes them to the amazing Strait of Gibraltar, as many ships leave daily form the picturesque harbor. However, you should know that this is a very popular entertainment opportunity, so you have to book places much in advance in order to make sure that you don’t miss the excursion.

Useful information

Paseo la Alameda is the avenue where you will find the tourism office; visitors can be helped with maps of the town and its main attractions, as well as with information regarding the accommodation possibilities and the best places for trying the local cuisine. For example, you can try the Cadiz sea bream (known by Spaniards as urta) at the Hostal Villanueva or the Platos ferienhaus lloret de mar combinados serves at the Restaurante Alameda. Visit Tarifa during one of your Spanish holidays; I am sure that you will have a few memorable days there!

Spending your holiday in manilva

The city of Manilva

Manilva is a beautiful city that started to attract thousands of tourists in the last few years; you will find it on the eastern side of the beautiful Costa del Sol, just 12 kilometers away from Estepona and about 35 kilometers away from Marbella. If you plan a holiday somewhere along the Costa del Sol, take into consideration directing some of your attention to Manilva; I am sure that a few days spent in this charming Spanish town will turn out to be very relaxing ones. Even though Manilva is very closely situated to some bustling and agitated cities, it managed to keep its spirit pure and its traditional atmosphere alive; the mass tourism is not a problem in Manilva, the property boom is not a problem either, so don’t worry about the fact that you will not have a good time in Manilva, as this is not possible. You will certainly live a typical Spanish experience if you decide to visit this small, but charming town.

Waiting to be discovered

Manilva can’t even be called a town; it is more like a village, but a village that still keeps its ‘’pueblo’’ features. Probably this is one of the reasons why so many tourists just pass by Manilva, without giving it too much attention. This is a big mistake, as you can’t even imagine how charming can Manilva be. Most of the tourists who are heading towards Gibraltar prefer to offer some of their attention to Manilva’s more interesting neighbors; well, they don’t know that these neighbors are just more famous, not necessarily more original and beautiful than ferienhäuser lloret de mar Manilva. Its charm comes from the fact that it is a very authentic village that fought along the centuries to keep its traditions and its customs alive. You can’t blame it for trying to remain the same way it used to be centuries ago. I assure you that you will fall in love with its whitewashed houses, with the relaxed atmosphere of a fishing village, with the quiet golf course, the picturesque orchards that surround it (as agriculture is one of its main occupations) and with the bars and restaurants that serve you some of the most delicious traditional dishes that will melt your hearts and nourish your senses. If you need some excitement and more energetic activities, just go for a few hours to Estepona or to Marbella, but do go back to Manilva and try to breathe its essence through all your pores!

The history of a great city

The history of Malaga was enriched by the many civilizations that at one time or another in the past were interested in the city and ruled over it. It was the Phoenicians that founded the city in 800 BC and then the Carthaginians and the Greeks who made it flourish. 202 was the year when the Romans conquered it and kept it for centuries, during which time they built many of the buildings and monuments that now occupy the sightseeing list with their remains. With the dawn of the Roman Empire, the difficult days of Malaga started as the city began to be affected by impressive migrations coming from the German tribes. However in the 8th century, the Arabs conquered Malaga and put their fingerprints on some of the most beautiful and impressive monuments that can still be seen today. 734 was the exact year when Malaga entered under Arab dominance and the year when its most flourishing period began; it was this same period when the wall and the five gates of the city were built as well as the beautiful Alcazaba, the monument that most attracts the interest of tourists. Last but not the least, it was the Christians who conquered the city and this is the way in which the beautiful Malaga became the spectacular city that it is today.
